Rowan was born during a snowstorm, something her parents held over her head for her entire life, as if it were some sort of sign of how her future might unfold. Her mother was a muggle born witch who'd worked in potions and apothecaries since Rowan was a young child. Her father came from a long line of proud, pureblood wizards and witches, though he'd never really found his place within that world, preferring to wander off and do his own thing and find his own friends. The pair of them met during a Quidditch match in their fourth year at Hogwarts, both hobby players who'd somehow found themselves on their respective house teams. They'd hit it off as friends immediately, remaining good friends until they finally decided to take their relationship to the next level in their seventh year. They were married a few years after their graduation, finding themselves with two kids within the next few, Rowan and her brother Theo.

Rowan was a spirited child from the very start. Sure, she looked unassuming, with her straight brown hair, light eyes, and generally casual clothes, but don't let that fool you. Always questioning things and always up for adventure, she frequently found herself in sticky situations as a child, having to come up with elaborate stories to talk herself out of situations. This has improved as she's gotten older, though sometimes the urge to check out something new sometimes takes over.

When not finding herself in trouble, she can be found reading adventure novels, studying history, hanging out with friends, playing pick up games of quidditch (beater is her preferred, though she'll take what she can get), or spending time with her family. She tends to make friends easily, though her carefree and down to earth personality tends to clash with high strung or snotty individuals. She hopes to play for her house quidditch team when she's a bit older, though she wouldn't be heartbroken if she never made it, and would have just as much fun cheering from the stands. She hopes to be a teacher, or a dragon trainer, or an adventurer when she grows up.
