Biography: Nick was born to a muggle father who worked as an engine driver for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. His muggle mother worked as a ticket lady and occasionally worked as guard. He loved seeing the small trains coming and going, his father always waving as he passed. They learned he was on the spectrum early in his life, but treated him and raised him to be a good person in every sense of the word. He had some difficulties socializing, but still found a friend or two at school. He helped out his friends at school whenever they needed it and when given an assignment at home or at school, he never complained once.

First Instance of Magic: When he was 9 years old, Nick tried to block out the noise of his birthday party whilst he was watching a DVD of a show he liked which he received as a present. At first, he thought everyone had left early, but when he finished watching, he was surprised to find everyone still around, but no sound coming from their mouths. Fearing he was going deaf, he sobbed to his mother, almost forgetting that he could still hear himself and his movie. His parents took him to the doctor, who found nothing wrong with his eardrums and gave them some ear drops in case of an ear infection. This didn’t seem likely since Nick’s ears didn’t hurt. For a few hours, Nick’s parents had to text him or write notes asking him questions about his hearing problems. When they realized he could still hear himself and specific things he wanted to hear, they realized he had magical potential. Initially, they were shocked, but this did not make them love him any less.
