[art by me, g3nd3rg4y on insta]

Fardeen is a small scrawny kid by nature, barely reaching the 1.20m mark. He has a rich tan skintone, without that many moles or other identifying characteristics on it, just a tiny scar beneath his chin that he got while playing at the park.

His hair is dark, straight, and thick, his round eyes a lovely shade of brown; They're not really that big, but his glasses make him look like a tarsier according to his former classmates. He has a straight wide nose.

When he's out of uniform he tends to dress in what he likes to call "vintage fashion", it's very early 20th century inspired.

MENTAL DESCRIPTION

[DISCLAIMER: author is autistic, this is based off my own experience]

Fardeen is a really shy kid, he's a bit clumsy when it comes to social interactions, his autism makes it so that he's not very good at recognizing social cues and non-verbal language, leading him to be kind of "odd" and very easily manipulated which, due to past negative situations, has made social anxiety bubble up inside of him. Despite this he's actually very extroverted, he loves making friends, he's just a bit scared to take the first steps, but once that's through he's the golden retriever type of friend, affectionate and loyal until the end.

He's really passionate about his interests: he loves art, roleplay games, weird history facts, he loves collecting oddities from the thrift store and preserving insects. He knows his interests may seem strange to most people, but he doesn't care, who wants to be "normal" anyway? He's unapologetically himself and will happily talk your ear off about his favorite subjects. Of course, this doesn't mean that he's not affected by what others say, he tries to stand up for himself in most cases, but it still hurts to get made fun of.

He's loving, kind, funny, and quite clumsy. He's just a silly little kid happy to live his silly little life.

BIOGRAPHY

Fardeen is a third-generation Indian immigrant, his grandparents emigrated from Jaipur a long time ago, now only his mother's dad remains alive. He loves his family with all his heart: his parents, Aashna and Kabir; His grandpa, Pavan; And his little sister, Heena. They're very close-knit.

When he was younger Fardeen had difficulties because of his undiagnosed neurodivergency, his parents didn't really understand it so, however well-intentioned, their actions hurt more than they helped. This paired with the bullying at preschool made him a very unhappy kid, very prone to meltdowns and autistic burnout. However, once he got his diagnosis at age five things started looking up for him: everything made sense now, he started getting accommodations and learning new coping mechanisms, his family educated themselves about their boy's situation and got around to actually helping him. Life was great.

Heena was born a few days after his seventh birthday, and in the beginning he was really displeased about it. It presented a huge change in their family dinamic and Fardeen didn't like changes; transitioning from being an only child to being the eldest was harder than he could ever imagine, but he eventually got over it and grew to adore his baby sister.

Primary school was a bit of a hellhole at first, the bullying multiplied, so his parents resorted to getting him into a microschool. The more personal approach worked wonders for him, he's a really smart kid, and he excelled in every subject once his environment allowed him to do so.

Now he's eleven and... Huh, there's an owl on his windowsill holding in his beak a letter addressed to him, that's... Odd, to say the least.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC

Weird things tended to happen around him all the time, he was used to it, they were usually small things that maybe could be explained by non-magical reasons. The one that actually kind of freaked him out though? There was this time he was hanging out with his best friend Theresa at the ripe age of nine, they were playing Guess Who? and they got into a little... Disagreement.

"You cheated!" snarled Fardeen.

"I did not!" retorted Theresa.

"You did! Stop lying to me!"

"I already told you I didn't! You're just angry that I'm better at this game than you!"

"I told you to stop lying you buttface!"

Theresa gasped "I'm gonna tell your mom you said that!"

"Shut up! I don't want to play with you anymore! You lied!"

Their fight was cut abruptly by one of Fardeen's stuffed toys (a realistic squid) flying across the room and hitting Theresa in the face. Both of the kids quickly forgot what they were angry about and ran downstairs to Fardeen's mom, screaming and crying about a ghost. Aashna didn't believe them of course, but she hugged and comforted them nonetheless.
