Physical Description: Apinya is small, about 4'5", and slender, with slightly tanned skin due to her Thai heritage. She has long, slightly wavy black hair that she wears in a long messy style. Her eyes are also brown, and she has a round face. She can usually be seen wearing some form of shirt/sweater or turtleneck combo, along with her grandmother's necklace that she was left when she died. The necklace means a lot to her and she never takes it off.
Mental Description: Apinya is a very cheerful person on the outside, always cracking jokes and making sarcastic quips. She is witty and quick to make a comeback. Her relationships with friends often involve them just casually insulting each other in friendly verbal battles. On the inside though she is deeply confused and struggling with who she is, and the pressures of balancing her family's expectations with her own life. She still tries to remain upbeat though, so her friends won't see her sadness. She also has mild ADHD, which causes her to be easily distracted and bubbly, which can lead to awkwardness.
Biography: Apinya was born in Guildford on 7th September 2011 to her Thai mother and English father. Being Muggle-born, she spent most of her early life fairly normally, going to the local nursery and making friends. She discovered a love for ballet at a very young age, a passion that would stay with her for the rest of her life. When Apinya was 2, her parents had another child, Kamala. She was now faced with the responsibility of being a role-model and steadying influence for her younger sister, and she took that role very seriously. When she started school, she learned to read and write very quickly, often joining the class above for phonics and English lessons in infants school.
When she got to junior school was when she made her first proper friends. She formed a close relationship with Millie, a quieter girl in her year. One of her best friends was a girl named Deiva. It was here that she discovered a love for singing and acting, taking part in school choir concerts and productions. Through this, she met Bill, and the pair became inseparable, like a brother and sister.
It was at this time that she realised how different her and her sister were. Her family dismissed her dreams of becoming a professional ballerina one day, and often praised her for good grades, but nothing else. She started struggling to balance her parents high expectations for her with her own ambitions and goals. When her magic manifested, her parents grew scared of her, and decided that sending her to hone that magic was a good idea. She hated the idea of leaving her friends, but knew she had to, for her future had just taken a very different turn.
First Instance of Magic: When Apinya was 10 years old, she was invited by her friends to a sleepover. The conversation turned to horror stories, and she got so frightened that she made a pillow levitate and explode in a shower of feathers.
