On a cold morning in December, Katja was born to a family of thee; her parents Elizabeth and Nicholas Kirkland, and her older brother by one year Finley Kirkland.
Katja was raised in a loving family that would appear to the world as perfect family, but then again the family did have their fare share of troubles. The two siblings would often fight and yell insults at each other as their mother tried to calm them both and stop the fights that took place. Elizabeth was a hardworking woman, but her children would always be up to some sort of mischief. Nicholas didn’t get to spend a lot of time with his children because of his job, although when he did have time it was spent with his family.
When Katja had to go to school for the first time, she was a nervous wreck. At school, Katja was described as shy, nervous, and fidgety by her peers and teacher. Her mother and her brother would describe Katja as playful, witty, and sassy though. In school Katja was a nervous wreck, but at home she was bold and witty.
At home Katja spends her time around her brother trying to annoy him. Finley has gotten to the point where he has wanted to snap but didn’t want to face his mother’s wrath, so he put up with Katja. Through the years Finley did grow close to Katja and the same for her. Katja was helped by Finley and she finally began to be herself more at school.
In the 4th grade Katja had stopped being the shy kid she had been, and began to be herself wherever she went. She was bold and sassy and gained a lot of friends with her wild personality. Even though most would think she is a little crazy, she does have a calm and motivating side. Although her wild personality did get her in trouble at school, she still had average grades.
When Katja turned ten, things took a turn for the worst, and soon her parents ending up getting a divorce. Elizabeth took Katja and Finley was taken by Nicholas, and soon after Nicholas and Finley moved to somewhere else. The divorce did cause Katja to become slightly depressed, but she still held hope and would always help her mother in hard times.

She has some Russian in her blood. Her Great Grandmother was half Russian and her name was Katja. No her past isn't tragic at all to others, but it is tragic to her because she lost her brother whom she was very close to.
