Biography:
Though the relationship with her parents is awkward, Ema's bond with her siblings is vital, as she's close to her younger brother Apollo and idolises her older brother Jacob who semi-raised her along with her grandparents.
Similarly, her extended family are distant save her grandparents on both sides who delight in teaching her magical theory and indulging her curiosity though due to her social awkwardness, she has no friends prefers her books and siblings and the few animals that reside on the family lands and the family pets to people. Though her life seems lonely, she's pretty happy with her life as her parents though emotionally distant grant her what she asks so long as it's reasonable and she causes no trouble.

First Instance of Magic:
She can't really remember what happened that day as all she can recall is that her little brother was crying and her family were arguing loudly about something and all she wanted to do was make him smile and the next thing she remembers is her brother's stuffed dragon is flying and roaring as though it were real and her brother and grandparents cheering at her first sign of magic as the rest of her family watched on silently with somewhat awkward approval.
