Sammy had a normal life before joining Hogwarts. He lived in a 2 storey apartment in Hatfield. His father is a Medi-wizard in saint mungo's and his mother is a high school teacher.

Sammy had his accidental magic when one time playing in his house he accidentally knocked a shelf (that had his mother favourite crockery in it) that was in the dinning room, the shelf started falling on top of him sammy got frightened but nevertheless expecting the pain to come braced himself, on not feeling the pain that he was expecting looked up and was amazed to see that the shelf was floating there as if hanging from the ceiling on hearing the commotion his father came in running and seeing the site of his son under a floating shelf realized that it was a case of his son performing accidental magic composed himself and pulled out his wand and repaired the broken crockeries and then placed the floating shelf back to its place and told his son all about magic and him being a WIZARD
