My name is Gemma Smith. I am 11 years old. I am a half-blood. My birthday is on the 9th January. I was born in 2011. I have long blonde hair and blue almond shaped eyes. I am 149 cm tall. I weight 38.4 kilograms. My wand is 25.7 cm long, made from chestnut wood, with phoenix feather as the wand core.

My favourite type of animals are cats. My favourite colour is blue. I like reading books and learning new things. I used to participate in competitions. I also like riding my family's broom in my free time. My uncle taught me how to. I like cooking too. It's my favourite free time activity. I usually cook with my mother on the weekends.

My father was a Muggle and my mother was a witch. She told me and my sisters when I was 6. She told my father when they got married. He was so surprised! I also have an elder sister and two younger sisters. My elder sister, Julia, is 1 year and a half older than me. My younger sisters are Dana and Celia. Dana is 2 years younger than me and Celia is 3 years younger than me. Julia is really good at riding brooms. She taught me how to go faster on the broom! She got into Hogwarts. She's in Gryffindor. Dana likes riding bikes more than riding brooms. She learned how to ride two wheels faster than me! Celia is a bit dramatic but she's really humorous. She always makes me laugh. I used to have 3 dogs, but slowly they passed away. I cried a lot. But now I have two cats, Crystal and Snowball. They have 4 kittens now. They love playing in the grass and climbing onto the roof of our house. Somehow, they always get into the broom shed and they love to sleep on our brooms!

Once, when I was 10, my father brought us out to the countryside to go ride bikes. We had gotten new bikes recently, just last Christmas. It was on a beautiful sunny day and we were all very excited. My father went first, then my mother, next was Julia, then I went, then Dana and last, Celia rode her bike. We started off okay but then we saw some mud ahead. I guess it rained last night. My father yelled for us to stop and we did. Celia stopped a bit too late. She tripped over and fell in the mud. Her knee got scraped and we immediately went over to check on her. She kept on crying and we were really worried. Our parents comforted her and Julia, Dana and I went to get our bikes. I was really sad, but suddenly, Celia stopped crying. I went over to see what had happened. Celia's knee had healed. Dumbfounded, I turned to my parents. They were in shock too. They looked at me and I realised what had happened. I had performed my first accidental act of magic! Relieved for Celia, I hugged her and my parents congratulated me.
