January has chocolate brown eyes and soft, silky, long brown hair. Her face shape is ovalish and she has bow-shaped lips. She is a bit short for her age (around 4'8), tan, and skinny.

January is a very humble, friendly, and ambitious girl. Although, she is also rebellious, moody, and a neat freak.
She will always be there for you if you need it, but she is always looking for a way to "beat the system". She's good about her schoolwork and always gets things done. Beware: if you catch her on a bad day, she might blow up at you.

January lived with her mother (Angelina Rose), her father (Martin Rose), and her younger sister (Cordelia Rose) in Maidstone, England. Her parents are pure-blood Hufflepuffs and were very excited when she was admitted into Hogwarts. Cordelia and January get along very well, even though Cordelia is 3 years younger than her. January enjoyed reading, painting, and singing growing up. Her father put a lot of pressure on her growing up, so she was very ahead when it came to her education. Her mother tried to take some of the pressure off, but her father was very insistent.

When January was around 7 and a half, she was in her room when she was trying to get a book off her bookshelf. As she climbed the ladder on her bookshelf, she tripped and fell but somehow managed to catch herself with a pillow from her bed. She would later recall that the pillow "sort of flew under me." She told her parents and they were thrilled that their child had finally exhibited a sign of magic.
