I was born in America, and moved to England at the age of 8 because my mom got really anxious that I would be a witch and wouldn't have a good education. The school we were close to was not as good as Hogwarts, and she wanted me to attend the best. My mom is a witch, and my dad is a muggle. I have an 8 year old sister, who really wants to go to Hogwarts as well. I play guitar and piano (after 5 years of my dad’s begging).
I manifested my magical ability as a 9 year old, when I was practicing running (at my house) and I fell but didn’t touch the ground. I looked up and my mom was ecstatic (because she really wanted me to be a witch), then I looked down and was so surprised that I stopped focusing and fell 3 seconds later. The only other people there were my dad and sister, who both already knew of my mom's ability. Afterwards, my mom waited (impatiently) for an admittance letter to Hogwarts.
