Biography: Nancy Grace McLoughlin, born on a warn June evening in 1990 as the youngest sibling of five. Arthur (Muggle) and Elizabeth McLoughlin (Muggle-Born), her parents, had their work cut out for them raising three boys and two girls, spending a lot of time either trying to find one of their mischievous children or tending to their wounds. Being the youngest of five, Nancy was always finding herself in trouble. She was either the one pulling her older siblings into the trouble or being considered guilty by association, but she spent a lot of time grounded or having to help her mother with extra housework as her mother was not a fan of using magic unless necessary.
One of Nancy’s favorite things to do throughout her life was to sit and listen to her grandparents as they told the story of how they met. Her grandmother was a WWII nurse while her grandfather was a soldier. The two met on occasion throughout the war and sooner after its end they married, against the wishes of their parents, when discovering they grew up in the same town. Nancy spent a lot of her childhood believe true love was a thing and that she would end in a wonderful relationship like her grandparents did.
Throughout her childhood, Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, studying, and exploring the outdoors. It was not uncommon for Nancy to be seen outside studying different plants or running back from the park followed closely by her Levi Shelby. Gardening was one of Nancy’s favorite past times, spending a lot of time helping her grandmother tend to her “prized” rose garden. It was not unlikely for her family to buy her a new plant for her birthday and holidays. It amazed the girl how different plants could require so little or so much care depending on what they were. Her room would be filled with journals of different plants ranging from small little aloe vera plants to larger magical plants.
Shortly after Nancy’s fifth birthday, her first instance of magic occurred startling her whole family. After coming home from school, the young girl had realized one of her brothers’ friends had stepped on her flowers. Extremely angry, the little girl had screamed at her older brothers when every glass in the kitchen shattered. Luckily her mother was able to fix everything, but it was a shock to the family when she displayed it earlier than her siblings had.
Nancy’s years at Hogwarts were about as average as they could get. She spent a majority of the years in the greenhouses or attempting to find new plants on the grounds. It was not a surprise that she was more interested in studying the plants than dating, although she told herself she was waiting for the right person before she would even consider it. The most exciting thing Nancy ever did was accept the dare of attempting to get as close the Whomping Willow as possible. The girl’s stupidity led to only a broken arm, to her luck. She decided that even though the large Willow was a magnificent plant, she was not going to risk her life again just to try and get as close as possible.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Nancy immediately went to raising and selling her own plants, both muggle and magical. She started up a small shop in Ireland where she sold non-magical plants, on occasion selling magical plants to the wizarding people living in the area. Her home was more of a greenhouse than her own home, having an actual greenhouse in the back garden, hiding away all of her magical plants.
