Invis seems to look more mature than he actually is among his muggle peers. The glasses are partially to blame for that, but there's also the fact that he prefers wearing clothes with darker subdued colors and his expression hardly ever shows any strong feelings as he actively tries to supress them.
The glasses are of a very simple design with metal frames holding the thin lenses in places in front of his dark brown eyes. His face has surprisingly sharp features for such a young boy, but It doesn't look unpleasant and in fact makes him more popular. He has a somewhat small nose and thin lips that hide his pearl white teeth.
But the one thing that makes him look unusual is his hair. Thanks to some sort of rare disease, everyone in his family from his mother's side, had a patch of silvery white hair. Some had a few streaks on the back of their heads, while others only had a few hidden strands among their otherwise perfectly normal hair - and for example his uncle even had a slash of white going through his big beard. In Invis's case, the white hair appeared in the front and often made him a centre of attention, which he didn't really appreciate much.

He was always a bit of an introvert and he usually avoids big crowds. Loud noises are also pretty high on his list of bothersome and annoying things - right under the bright lights like the sun in the summer or strong electrical lights.
On the other hand, he likes night time, moon and he is also rather fond of nature and quiet places like a library or an attic. This way he also found a connection with books and animals. As most kids, he likes games and puzzles, but only those that don't involve tiresome physical activities.
Another thing that Invis grew to be fond of was music. He didn't really like anything too aggressive or otherwise too crazy, but he was enthusiastic enough that his parents noticed and bought him an MP3 player with simple headphones so that he could listen to music whenever he wanted (They deemed him too young to buy him a mobile phone).

Invis's family could be considered wealthy, but that doesn't mean that they are snobbish or flaunting their money left and right - one could say that they are also fans of certain retro things like CDs, old magazines and his father even owns an old gaming console. His current family consists of his parents (Joel and Marie), uncle and his wife (Barry and Jill), grandmother from his father's side (Sophie) and both grandparents from his mother's side (Frank and Beatrice) and lastly his two cousins (Keira and Rowan).
He is the youngest from the family since both of his cousins are older than him. Keira is 14 years old and Rowan is 16. While his parents told Invis that they both used to come over and babysit him - he hadn't seen them for a few years by then and he once overheard his father talking about some sort of accident, but he never really picked up the courage to ask him about it.
While It might have seemed like uncle and his part of the family were cut off from the rest - little Invis was still getting gifts on his birthday and on Christmas from them with kindly written postcards that his mom used to read outloud for him before he learned how to read.

As everyone else, Invis also went to elementary school and while he was friendly with a few other kids, he didn't have any serious friends. Maths classes bored him and he much preferred biology classes and occasional school trips. His parents were rather liberal and easygoing and didn't force him to do almost anything apart from a few important things related to healthcare (Brushing your teeth is important!) and things like that.

When It happened, It was by far the weirdest and also the most amazing thing that happened to Invis.

The day began like any other and Invis was simply lying on his bed and reading a new book that he borrowed from the school's library. The book was about a group of adventurers on a journey to slay a terrible dragon and claim Its treasure. He quite enjoyed these fantastic tales and the seemingly made up names and silly humour.
He then later came down from his room to the kitchen for lunch, but was instead met with their house cat that climbed on top of the table and was in the process of devouring his lunch that his mom most probably left on the table for him. He instantly got angry and ordered the cat across the room to go away while running towards It and shooing It with his hands.
Invis managed to scare the cat away, but decided against eating from the half empty plate and instead (rather grumpily) went to the fridge to get a leftover sandwich. It wasn't nearly as tasty as It been yesterday, but at least It didn't have cat stench all over it. He did like animals, but this cat really annoyed the heck out of him at times and he was almost 100% sure that this cat in particular was simply evil by Its nature.
But when he finished and later went back to his room, he noticed the door was ajar even though he closed It. Thinking nothing of It, he went inside, but soon stopped in his tracks in disbelief when he saw that infernal feline munching on his MP3 player. He immediately ran towards It with a quick shout, but the cat attempted (and succeeded) to run away - with the MP3 player in its mouth. Invis quickly turned around and tried slinging his arm to catch the furry interloper-

And then it happened...

He didn't quite remember what exactly happened but suddenly there was a fire on the carpet next to his door and the cat dropped Its prey and was running down the stairs with loud and scared meows. When he realised that there was fire - he began shouting in a much more high pitched voice and his parents soon came running and extinguished the fire before it could spread.
His parents did ask him extensively about what happened, but Invis didn't have any explanation for what happened and so nobody really knew what to think about It.

About a year later the letter arrived from a place called Hogwarts, but that just made Invis's parents sceptical. In the end they decided to consult the rest of the family, including his uncle, and here it turned out that Rowan actually got the very same letter when he was 11 years old and they assured Invis's parents that It was all truth and that the accident that happened in the past when they thought that Rowan and Keira were messing with pyrotechnics while babysitting Invis, was in fact a similar accident to what happened to Invis a year back.
His parents didn't want to believe it at first since nobody could really prove It to them as Rowan was supposedly banned from using magic until he'd turn 17 and would get into trouble If he did, but eventually they at least showed them the chocolate frog that somehow moved by itself and while rather weirded out - Invis's parents finally agreed to send Invis to Hogwarts.
