PERSONALITY
Before you become a friend of Hilda you will notice she is a quiet and naturally shy person, but will slowly reveal more of herself the more comfortable she is with the person or situation she is in. After that Hilda will be smiles all round, not afraid to laugh out loud at the funniest joke, or brighten the day of someone who is feeling down. She loves having friends, however, as an only child, enjoys her quiet time too. Her favourite hobbies include; trail walking, watching sporting events with her father and hanging out with her friends.

DESCRIPTION
A pale face filled with sun-kissed freckles grins up at the sky, showing deep dimples either side of her expressive mouth. Large deep blue eyes sparkle under the long locks of dark blonde tresses that frequently fall in front of her face. Short for an eleven-year-old, but agile and quick, Hilda’s height never seemed to be an issue when she could scale any obstacle to reach her goal. Most commonly found in trendy boyish clothes, though not a tom-boy herself; likes blues and greys as they make her eyes pop, and earthy tones, but will sport any colour as long as she deems it trendy enough.

HISTORY
Hilda’s parents were young when they married in a whirlwind romance that left them both baffled at how soon a baby could be in their lives. Her father Demetrius Cavendish was a coach for Appleby Arrows, a regional Quidditch Team in England, and her mother Ellen Rosewater was a bank teller, and a muggle. Ellen knew that Demetrius worked hard and enjoyed his job, but not a fan of sports she never bothered to ask questions, and thus never knew she had married a wizard. He didn’t have an open account in her bank and he kept waving sticks in the air like he was ‘fencing’, but she thought that was boyish and charming. Hilda was named after her grandmother on mother’s side, but everything else she inherited seemed to come from her father, including a magical ability. Things got complicated after Hilda started showing signs of magic. First appearing at the age of three, it was hard to conceal the truth from his wife any longer and she didn’t handle it as well as Demetrius hoped. After being lied to for years Demetrius’ boyish charm was now frustrating and devious, her baby now made her jump with fright and she kept remembering things that seemed miraculous, that now made perfect sense. It frustrated Ellen, and she felt like her husband was cheating life somehow, cheating at the things normal people worked so hard for. She loved both her daughter and her husband, but no longer saw them in the same way, they were not a part of her world, and she was not a part of theirs. Not really. So, divorce occurred around the time Hilda was five and her mother moved out with a promise to stay in contact. Not wanting to upset her mother, it was a while before young Hilda could maintain a degree of control over her magical ability and thus visit without showing signs that they were so different. While she still sees her mother, occasionally on holidays, Hilda was raised by Demetrius and considers herself a ‘daddy’s girl’.
Like her father, she loves sports. She cheers loudly with her parent when they attend matches together, she overviews his training sessions and gives her best 10-year-old opinion, and she actively participates in many physical activities. Being an only child meant she had no siblings to pester or question about the ‘magic’ and ‘spells’ she would come to learn, and so she spoke with her father about it all and they became very close. Despite being a shy girl, for hiding her ability from muggles led her to hide her own personality as well, she made a few friends in her muggle school, and living almost in the centre of town, she got to spend a lot of time with them too. Though none of them were from magical families.
In her Eleventh year, Hilda received a letter from a proudly grinning Demetrius, and they would soon set off to Diagon Alley, a place she had been before but never for herself, to buy her first-year school supplies. And… she could open her own account at Gringotts.

FIRST MAGIC
A three year-old toddler on her father’s shoulders, pulled at his hair (which kept growing the more she pulled) until she was tickled into submission.
