Physical Description:

Cían is an average and unassuming boy. To call him unattractive would be false; so too would it be false to call him overly handsome. He has messy blond hair that seems to follow its own rules. Behind thick black frames, orbs of swirling blue-green take in his surroundings. His skin is pale and smooth, suggesting that he spends little of his time outdoors. He is an average sized boy, not particularly imposing in any sense of the word. While he does spend much of his time alone, his face is gentle and inviting.

Mental Description:

Despite his kind disposition and willingness to help and talk with people, he is shy, unlikely to initiate a conversation himself. Some might think of him as a loner with no friends, spending all his time in isolation. While this technically is the case, it is not because he wants to be alone. He often finds himself becoming distracted by things that interest him, accidentally forgetting about obligations or promises he’s made. It has cost him many friendships, something he truly desires.

Biography:

Cían Aodh Monkes was born on the 16th of February, 2010. He was born to the pure-blood witch Aisling Caoimhe Byrne, the owner of a small cafe located in Diagon Alley, and Fione Darragh Monkes, also known as Finn Monks, a muggle comedian. Aisling met Fione one night as her and some friends decided to explore muggle night life to see how it different from that of the Wizarding World. Aisling felt as though someone had slipped a Love Potion in her glass of wine when she laid eyes on the man. He was handsome, kind, and most importantly, he was funny. She posed as a muggle for some time, frequenting his shows around Cork, Ireland until she was able to begin to form a bond with the funny man. Over time, their romance blossomed, and Fione asked for Aisling’s hand. It was at this time she thought it proper to introduce him to her family, and by extension, the world of Magic. At first he was concerned, but he grew to love this new aspect of his life, even if he didn’t understand any of it.

Cían grew in the care of his mother and father, with his grandmother living with them for much of his life. Most of the family he knew were witches and wizards (his father was an only child with no living family), so he grew up knowing his life was destined for the Wizarding World. As such, he lived the typical life of most magical children, only growing up without ignorance of muggle life. He was a fan of both Quidditch and Football. His father was a raging cricket fan, for some reason. All in all, Cían lived a normal and happy childhood . His family wasn’t rich, but they weren’t particularly poor, either. Now, at the age of 12, he was readying his enrollment at Hogwarts. He wondered if he would be placed in Hufflepuff, like his mother and grand mother. His father hoped for Slytherine, since it was green, but that was all he really knew. Cían was just excited to finally start his magical education.

First Instance of Magic:

The first instance of accidental magic for Cían was one of sadness. When he was young, Cían was very close with his maternal grandmother. A kind woman who would never harm another person. She grew sick in her old age. The healers as St. Mungo’s informed the family is was a lung based illness likely caused by her lifelong work with the poisons and toxins of magical creatures. When her time came and she passed, Cían was 6. He reacted poorly, running to his room and locking the door behind him. When his parents came to him, crying under his bed, they found everything in the room had changed to a cool shade of blue. Everything from the light bulbs to the bed sheets. Even the window became tinted blue. This was the moment his parents saw his magical potential.
