Physical Description: Ariel is built like a fictional fairy princess, slender and fair with ash blonde hair and upturned blue eyes. Although she looks delicate, she has enough muscle in her limbs to swing a sword all day long or shoot a hundred arrows in a row if she so chooses. Her wardrobe is filled with light cotton dresses and soft knitted jumpers. She loves to wear socks, the longer the better, but given the choice she would prefer to go without shoes.Ariel Hawkins
Mental Description: More of a listener than a talker, Ariel's reserved manners and elegant way of speaking make her seem almost regal. Despite her quiet nature, she tends to gravitate towards friendly, boisterous characters who never fail to make her laugh. Underneath the graceful veneer, she is a risk-taker, yet thanks to her analytical mind and keen intuition, she's too shrewd to be considered reckless. This unapologetic boldness often comes off as arrogance, and she's lost more than one friend due to her inability to compromise. A nature-lover at heart, she loves the outdoors and spends much of her time roaming the Cotswolds, searching for Porlocks and Bowtruckles. Some of her favorite things are horses, bonfires, and any form of chocolate.
Biography: Ariel is the product of an unusual pairing: Dad is a swordsmith and Mom is a psychologist. He has a passion for metalwork, while she is intrigued by the human mind. Mr. Hawkins instilled discipline in her by teaching his daughter to wield a number of weapons. Yet, the ability to understand people's hearts and minds the way her mother can is a rarer gift, one that Ariel hopes to possess one day. The family of three lives comfortably among their muggle neighbors in a quaint cottage beside the river, an idyllic home if there ever was one. Mr. Hawkins spends his days working in his forge, endeavoring to one day create a magical blade that rivals anything goblin-made. Dr. Hawkins divides her time between helping her patients and studying the eccentric behaviors so prevalent within the wizarding community. When not in school, Ariel can be found either fencing with her father (none of her schoolmates want to challenge her anymore since she doesn't understand the concept of holding back), riding the neighbor's winged horses (if Mr. Hastings is going to let them wander into their garden, the least he can do is allow her to borrow his prized Granian every so often), or if the weather is rubbish, curled up in the window seat with a cup of hot chocolate in one hand and a deck of cards in the other.
First Instance of Magic: Ariel knows better now, but when she was younger, she had a bad habit of sneaking into Mr. Hawkins' forge and playing with his tools. One day, she knocked over an unfinished sword and grabbed it by the blade, slicing both her hands open. The pain was immeasurable, but more terrifying was the thought of getting caught and punished by her father. Hearing the commotion, Mr. Hawkins barged in and demanded she open her clenched hands. Miraculously, her hands were pristine when she revealed them, so she let out a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, she'd forgotten about the blood staining the fallen blade. Suffice to say, she never entered the forge without supervision again.
