Physical Appearance: Peter McGregor is a wiry boy from Ireland with eyes as green as the Emerald Isle itself and chestnut brown hair. His eyes are slightly upturned, and he sports thick plastic-framed glasses over them. His medium-length hair remains tousled no matter how many times one might try combing it. His cheeks are perpetually rosy as if he were ever-so-slightly embarrassed at all times.

Personality: Pete is a kind, but somewhat shy boy. He doesn't make many friends, but the ones that he has are practically family to him. He is rather naive as he is yet to really learn much about the world that he lives in. He's intelligent but prefers to devote his young brainpower to seemingly random facts about things he enjoys like football, games, and animals.

Background: Peter's parents aren't the most attentive but are still loving and do their best to care for their son despite financial problems that tear them away in favor of work. Pete doesn't really mind, or truly understand, as it affords him the freedom to run around his hometown, exploring with the few friends that he has.

His friend group is small, but relatively steady. He grew up with two best friends, one girl named Erica and one boy named Jack. Often times there would also be a third friend that was mostly the other boy's friend. Sometimes it was a football teammate, sometimes it was a girl that liked Jack. Pete often times felt like a side-character in Jack's story, but he didn't mind it too much as long as his friends stuck by his side.

First Accidental Wandless Magic: When Peter was 9 years old, he was playing on a frozen lake with Jack and Erica. This proved to be an ill-conceived choice of activities as the ice broke and Jack fell into the freezing water below. He then floated underneath the unbroken ice and was unable to escape. Pete and Erica both kneeled, pounding on the ice, but it didn't budge.

Erica shortly ran to get help from an adult, leaving Peter alone to keep punching at the thick ice. As his clenched fist bled and tears rolled down his cheeks, Peter cried out "break, please, break" over and over again. As he lifted his arm for a strong strike, the ice shattered mysteriously and instead of hitting ice again, his arm plunged into the water. Much to everyone's surprise, Peter was able to pull Jack from the water and the two laid crying on the ice together as they waited for an adult.

Everyone had thought Peter had broken the ice through pure will with his now-broken hand. Only he knew something strange had happened. When he tried to convince Jack and Erica that he hadn't broken the ice, they claimed he was just being too humble.
