Physical Description: Rayne is tall for their age, with longer legs. They have gently waved hair. dyed deep green, which sits just above their shoulders. Their eyes, a sharp jade, are framed by a pair of brown, round rimmed glasses. Freckles pattern their cheeks and nose, which curves upwards slightly. They have a sharp build, broad shoulders that fill their robes, and longer limbs. It could be described as a rather peculiar image, but their features did fit quite perfectly. Though Rayne identifies as non-binary, they do have a more typically femme presentation, and use they/them pronouns.

Mental Description: Rayne Chance is kind, truly and has an undeniable charismatic way. They have a sharp wit, most often directed towards self-deprecating, light-hearted humour. They are warm and welcoming, most of the time, but struggle with forgiving people. Though hardworking, they can be prone to procrastination and sometimes lack motivation. They do struggle with anxiety, but Rayne stubbornly doesn't allow this to get in the way of their life.

Biography: Rayne came out to their family shortly before the arrival of their Hogwarts letter arrived by owl. They are muggle-born and it came as a shock to everyone, not least them. They had a slight difficulty when it came to telling explaining to their friends where they would be for the following years, but eventually claimed that they had been accepted into a far off boarding school, specialising in theatre. Their parents are middle class, and they have twin sisters, 2 years younger, who hadn't shown any magical potential, fortunately for Rayne.

First Instance of Magic: The first unexplainable moment Rayne remembered, was when they were clambering up an abnormally large tree. they were only about 8. Unfortunately, one of the branches they reached for was rotten, so snapped easily, letting them drop to the ground. Here is where the story gets interesting. Rayne was high enough up that a drop like that would surely lead to broken bones, but they walked off with no injuries to tell for it, strangely. At the time, their parents put it down to a combination of a misconception of how high they were and pure luck, though now they had a considerably better explanation.
