Vera is a thin girl of average height for her age. She has light brown hair that is feathered just beyond her shoulders. Her eyes are a light blue, that appear almost silver. She is complimented with sharp, masculine features and her face is spotted with freckles. Her face is often rosy as she routinely puts blush on her cheeks and nose.

Vera is the epidemy of an adventurer. She loves to explore and often gets herself into trouble, especially when paired up with her younger sister. Like, when she said she was going to a friend's house and just wandered around York, at the age of nine. She is stubborn and strong-willed, which comes in handy when working on difficult tasks. She loves to learn new things and often picks up new hobbies, but she's never too good at any of them. Her best hobby is drawing. She is rather intelligent but cares little about academics and significantly more around the "real world" around her. She likes to live in the present and she wears her emotions on her sleeve.

Vera Knightingale is the middle child of three. She has an older brother, River, and a younger sister, Middy. Her father is a half-blood and her mother is a muggle. Her mother absolutely adores the magical realm, however her jealousy of her husband and children often can lead her being cold and isolating. She occasionally locks herself away in her room, as she is filled with grief. Vera's mother evidently favors her eldest son, who is a squib, for she feels connected to him. Her father is often absent, as he works long shifts at the ministry in the International Magical Office of Law to support the family. Vera and Middy are best friends, rarely ever seen a part.

Vera's first instance of magic was at her home. She was helping her mother plant seeds, when the plants grew at an alarming rate. In just a few minutes, there was a strawberry about the size of an apple and a handful of roots cracking through the planters. Her and her mother, ultimately, had to replant everything in a new location, as they no longer could fit in the pots.
