Short curly red hair, slightly freckled fair skin, blue eyes. Birthmark on his left wrist that looks like a chess pawn. Slightly short, lean muscles, and most of the time he wears a long vibrant pink and forest green scarf.

He tries to hide his emotions, and likes to be dramatic sometimes. He is very curious and likes learning, often pursuing his goals with passion. He has an excellent memory, and is good at observing things. He doesn’t like being mean. He is usually moving his body, gently tapping his feet to the ground or rubbing his hands together. Sometimes he prepares and files away answers in case anyone talks to him, often talking in bursts if he didn’t, until he has grasped the situation. He likes running. He wakes up early because nightmares are not conducive for a good nights sleep. Sometimes mimics people without noticing.

Makenzie is the mother of Michael, she has long red hair, fair skin, and icy blue eyes. She is distant, thoughtful, and kind.

Oliver is the father of Michael, he has short red hair, fair skin, and earthy brown eyes. He is stern, hard-working, and friendly.

Nathan was Michael’s best friend, he had short brown hair, fair skin, an infectious grin, and brown eyes. He was kind, happy, adventurous, and playful.

When Michael was very young they had lived on a farm, he had liked the animals. They moved when he was about five, and he went to school, he liked learning. There he met Nathan, who became his best and only friend. Nathan died when he was eight, and Michael threw himself into learning, and running.

When he was seven Michael had been running with Nathan, they had been racing all afternoon across hills and under trees, when they saw the house with the fence around it.

Michael stopped running under a tree, this was the farthest they had ever gone, and called to Nathan who was still running. “Hey, wait!” Nathan stopped for a moment and gestured for Michael to follow, then continued running. Michael thought for a few seconds, then started running after Nathan who was almost at the fence. Nathan got to the fence and started climbing it.

“What are you doing?” Michael asked in a panic when he reached the fence, looking at his friend who had hopped down to the other side. “I think I heard a bird!” Nathan exclaimed, looking worriedly at his friend, who Nathan knew liked animals.

Michael listened for a moment, and indeed there was the chirping of a bird, and immediately began climbing the fence. He hopped down next to Nathan and started running in the direction the sound was coming from, his friend following, when it stopped. There was a growling and a big dog came around the side of the house

Michael grabbed Nathan’s hand and started backing up, his breathing quick, until his back hit the fence. Michael closed his eyes and Nathan squeezed his hand. The dog came closer and lunged.

Michael fell onto his back on the ground and opened his eyes, the fence was in front of him! He quickly stood up and looked around, Nathan stood up and looked at Michael. The dog was barking at them and they looked at it, then ran home.
