Physical Description:
Esther is blue-eyed, has white blond hair and light skin.
She is frail but quite tall for her age. She often wears dark colors that give her an ethereal look. Her face rarely shows emotions, and if so, it is usually boredom or contempt.

Esther is secretive and distrustful. She is eager to succeed in her studies but under great pressure from her family. With difficult family relationships, she has closed herself off and only rely on her older brother. She is outwardly dismissive of other's opinions but secretly take them to heart. Esther is very hard on herself and resents her limitations as a young girl and a second born.
Biography:
Esther's family is from an old line of wizards from Spain on her father's side. The Reyes line moved to Ireland four generations ago just before the Spanish Civil War.
Esther's father, Alejandro, married her mother, Sigrid Sørensen, when she was 22 and he, 40 years old.
Her mother's family has always been well-off but only Esther's grandmother and her elderly spinster sister still live.
Her older brother, Damian, graduated from Hogwarts three years prior Esther's first day at the castle, and has since lived in London close to the Ministry.
Sigrid died in 2018 from a spell backfiring, leaving the young girl desperate and gutted in a big house, alone with a demanding father. Sigrid was trying to repair a retaining wall on the family property but in doing so, provoked a landslide that killed her.
Esther has always been shielded by her mother from Alejandro's expectations, but since her death, the father-daughter relationship has taken a turn for the worse.
Alejandro is constantly berating her, complaining about her looking too much like her mother, about her lack of grace and maturity. He has made very clear that the young girl must uphold the family name and status if she wishes to stay in his good graces.
Things have worsened now that Esther's father has proposed to his girlfriend, Naoise O'Brian.
The young woman, a virtual stranger to Esther, has been living with them for a few months and she is not to her tastes.
From a renowned family in Dublin, Naoise is snotty and mean to Esther when her father is not present, pretending to be a sweetheart when he returns.
Esther cannot wait to leave the house for Hogwarts.
