Helen has yellowish-green eyes, and dark gold hair. Her hair is long and straight, and so she often ties it into a ponytail. As with most girls, Helen is not allowed to apply make-up or dye her hair, so her beauty remains natural.

Helen Matilda Prewett-Reid comes from a half-blood family with a pure-blooded mother, and muggle father. Both adults work almost all day, so Helen is undoubtedly independent. Her mother works at a Ministry taskforce, while her father works at a bank. She would talk to her parents whenever they are free or are home early from work. Of course, she has many friends too, and an annoying brother, Hendriz Reid, so she doesn't stay lonely. Her brother annoys her to the core and teases her frequently, though he may be younger. She excels in the Languages though she does not possess a flair for Mathematics and Science in school.

There was once when her brother had teased her, took away her toys and locked it up. Helen was mad and walking forward, she screamed and yelled at her brother to return everything. But then, the vase behind him broke somehow, and cut her brother. Helen was confused, she hadn't at all been looking at the vase. She had only been staring daggers at her brother. Neither did she mean any harm, because all she wanted were her toys back. Helen felt insecure as it was abnormal. That day, her mother happened to come home early and learnt about the incident. She took a stick-like thing out from her bag and swirled it, then the vase went back to normal. She did the same for her brother, swirled the stick, and his wound closed up. Helen was dumbfounded. It was only after some explanation, did Helen finally understand everything. Her mother was a witch - so she had magic in her blood. Everything was confirmed when Helen turned 11, and received her Hogwarts Acceptance Letter.
