Elora Kent, 11, is approximately 4'7" tall with slightly tanned skin and dark brown hair, which she usually wears down unless she's in class. Her eyes are brown and she tends to have something of a piercing stare, especially when she's deep in thought.

Elora is someone who tends to be a bit stand-offish when confronted with new situations or new people, but this is simply because she likes to analyze what's going on first before jumping into things with both feet. Her first priority is ensuring that she doesn't end up in any embarrassing situations, and she relies heavily on instinct and observation to achieve this. Elora does tend to be somewhat loud at times, the result of wanting to make sure that everyone knows her opinion on various subjects. This can sometimes make others quite annoyed with her, so it can be a daunting task for Elora to make friends.

Elora Kent was born to Danny and Maribeth Kent on July 6, 2010. An only child, she lived a comfortable life, though she was by no means spoiled. Her father, a former Beater for the Ballycastle Bats, now works in the Department of Magical Games and Sports at the Ministry of Magic, while Maribeth Kent is employed at Flourish and Blotts. Although Elora has shown some signs of having inherited her father’s athleticism, she prefers to engage in her favorite pastime of noise making, whether by screaming at the top of her lungs for no reason or simply by crashing pots and pans together. This has prevented her from making a lot of childhood friends, although she is in reality quite a social butterfly. The few good friends she does have, however, are ones she knows she can trust, despite differences in blood status (she being a halfblood while her friends are mainly pure bloods).

Elora was seven years old when she first showed signs of magic. When feeding her pet turtle one day, her finger happened to touch the animal’s hard green-brown shell. The shell immediately turned a bright purple; a moment later, the rest of the turtle was purple. At Elora’s ear-piercing shriek, Danny Kent rushed to see what had happened. When he’d realized that his daughter had just performed her first bit of magic (albeit accidentally), he hurried off to tell his wife. For turning her turtle purple, Elora was treated to dinner at her favorite restaurant.
