Violet Thorborn has a small stature and a small, drawn face. However her personality is anything but small. Born to two muggles in Scotland, she always had a penchant for getting herself in spots of trouble: swinging too wildly on the monkey bars, jumping off of a swing and scraping her knee, singing twinkle twinkle little star during preschool instead of finishing her color-by-numbers. The list could go on. Violet has a strong will and, evidently, an even stronger head, as shown by her several trips and tumbles.

Though despite being an active child, Violet was not solely focused on outrunning her classmates or learning to cartwheel. Throughout her early years of schooling, Violet discovered a love for the natural world. During the summers she could often be found helping her mother in their vegetable garden, or crouched to the grass attempting to entice a rabbit out of a bush, or maybe putting in her best efforts to draw the perfect pet dog, for which she begged her parents endlessly. It is that determination that drives much of her actions. When Violet has decided what she wants, she wants it, and there’s little she will do to give it up. She stands her ground for her classmates and for herself, occasionally talks back to adults, and even battled her once great fear of bugs in order to spend more time with her mother and father outdoors.

Violet has one sibling: a brother called Frankie. While Frankie is six years old and closely resembles their mother; all blonde hair and green eyes and freckles, Violet looks more like her dad. She has brown curly hair, dark eyes, and thin brows. Violet’s nose is small and her mouth is a bit pouty looking, which when paired with her large eyes and forehead can give her the look of a somewhat unhappy doll. She’s small and thin for her age, which makes her wiry and fast.

Prior to receiving her letter from Hogwarts, Violet was never too interested in the magical. Once she realized what it meant— that she hadn’t been pranked, and she really would be going to a school for magical children— Violet quickly took a liking to magic, using sticks she found in her back garden to pretend to duel her brother with, and daydreaming of all of the neat things she would get to do once she got her hands on a wand and wrapped her brain around a few lessons.
