Her father is the main source of income working as a professor at Oxford and her mother stays home to take care of Gwen. Gwen typically keeps to herself so she has a very small group of friends. She has one close friend who lives in London also. They spend time together as often as they can.
One day Gwen and her mother were arguing about something and Gwen got very angry. Suddenly books come flying off the shelf towards mom. They miss but it was close. Mom brushes it off and chalks it up to an earthquake. Gwen is a little frightened though because she felt like she did it herself.
