Amelia has medium-length light brown hair that shines blonde in the right lighting, and stormy-blue eyes. Her resting face leaves her mouth down-turned at the corners, and her eyes often half-lidded in silent judgement. She's been said to have a pretty face, though apparently her "intimidating expression" ruins it. She's taller than most children her age.

Having been drowned in praises since infant-hood, Amelia has a somewhat inflated sense of self-importance. Though she tries to be rational and think things through, she has a short fuse accompanied with a lot of pride, and often loses her temper, leading her to act rashly (and often, violently). She doesn't like to apologise even when she is the one in the wrong, nor does she like to admit that she is, indeed, wrong. She despises to see people acting smugly, so the best way to get her to do something is to tell her that she can't do it. She enjoys solving difficult problems, and never backs down from a challenge.

Amelia is taciturn and doesn't usually contribute much to conversation, except with her snark. She would never talk to you first without having something of value to say. She is straightforward and not afraid to point out others' shortcomings, preferring not to beat around the bush and waste time. She doesn't like to believe that she is below others, and only follows the direction of people that have earned her approval. This sometimes lands her in trouble with authority figures.

Having been born the only child to a wealthy pure-blood family, Amelia grew up with someone accompanying her at every step of her childhood. She doesn't want to be treated like a crippled baby anymore, and is looking to find independence at Hogwarts. Her friends before Hogwarts were few and far between, as she is difficult to approach, and doesn't go out of her way to interact with people, either.

Amelia's parents have high expectations for her, but also, in Amelia's words, "treat her like a baby". They are very involved in her life, and contact her through letters often when she is away from home.

Amelia's parents do not have impressive ancestry to speak of, and they earned their wealth through business. Thus, Amelia was brought up with the values of not spending abundantly, and not to waste resources on anything undeserving - whether it be a business idea, or a potential ally.

Amelia's first instance of accidental magic was when she was seven years old, in which she made orange leaves fall from trees in the middle of Spring.
