For all her life, Adelaide has lived in a small town house just outside Coventry. Her dad worked as a doctor, owning a small clinic in the center of town and her mother was a nurse. She went to a small private primary school and was a popular little girl. Life was a good one, until one day, a letter arrived in the mail.

It said she was a wizard and that she had been accepted to a school called Hogwarts. That's when all the explanations started flowing. Her father wasn't a doctor, he was a wizard, a writer for their "magical newspaper". And she was half a wizard! Adelaide was told that her father was disowned from his prestigious family not only for being sorted into the wrong house, something she had no idea about, but also because he had married her mother. Adelaide was a Tucker, a long line of pureblood wizards. Her mother was a non-magical person or a muggle, a word she learned that was basically just a slur to insult people.

Adelaide couldn't help but feel angry. After all, she was the exiled one. Stories of her "perfect" cousin Rhea and how terrible her father was and what a disgrace she, herself, was to their family were told as she was forced to attend family gatherings because she was going to Hogwarts.

So she went to Hogwarts. No longer an innocent carefree child, but an outcast. A halfblood, alone with no friends, placed in a world that she didn't understand. But she made it work. If her parents could deal with being social outcasts of their family, she could could deal with a couple years of magic school.
