Helena Vaile is a considerably short girl, with golden blonde hair, and ocean blue eyes. Though she needs glasses to read, she is more often than not seen without them, as she finds them 'bulky', and 'far too in the way'. Her clothing usually consists of either soft, pastel colours, or bright, cheery colours. Very rarely is there anything inbetween.

Helena Vaile is an incredibly curious, friendly individual, who, after being born in the muggle world and later being introduced into the world of magic, is utterly obsessed with learning anything and everything she can about said world. Though her thirst for knowledge is immense, her enjoyment of the littler things, the more simple things (ie. quality time with friends, the value of hard work, the importance of fairness, ect.), completely dwarves and eclipses her more curious side. In classes, she is hard working, entirely because of just how large a disadvantage she is at being a Muggleborn, though outside of class, she is carefree, fun loving, and oh so very warm.

Helena Vaile grew up with a very strict, though fair, family. Being the eldest child amongst her 3 siblings, her mother and father, Venessa and Charles Vaile alike, taught her to be a caring soul, to always be there for her younger siblings, and, above all else, to respect those around her. Her siblings, Luka, Clementine and Flint, were all offered much more lenience than she was, having been born first, though she never let that get to her. She understood that she had to set an example, even from such a young age, as she was the eldest, the one that her brothers and sister would look up to. Even from said young age, Helena had a habit of amassing a wide variety of friends. Outgoing and friendly, and not to mention smart, Helena was rather popular in her school. As she grew, she gathered more and more friends, who she'd laugh and play with for hours at a time. She was truly happy, and she only grew happier on the day that she was sent a letter of acceptance into Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Now, armed with her wand and her thirst for knowledge, Helena boarded the Hogwarts Express, a near unfathomable collection of emotions buzzing in her mind. Soon, she'd be a witch.

Helena's first magical appearance was quite by accident. One of her friends, while they were playing with a plush bear of sorts, accidentally managed to throw their doll up into a tree. Everyone she was with tried getting it down. They were throwing various objects at it, shaking the tree, one kid even tried climbing up to grab it, though it was all in vain. As the rest of the kids were running off to go fetch an adult to help, Helena stared intently at the branch that the toy had found itself lodged on. She knew she could get it down. She just knew it. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as, completely unprompted, the branch that the toy was sitting upon snapped, and the toy fell down, landing directly in front of Helena, almost as if it were guided by an unseen force. Helena couldn't explain how she knew, but she did know that somehow, she had caused that branch to snap. And later, when she received her letter from Hogwarts, she knew, deep down, that it was her destiny to become an accomplished witch.
