Cassiel has a very white skin and deep blue eyes. His black hair is straight and reaches his shoulders. His lips are thick and blood red. The features of his face are refined, but no longer quite childish. He is average low in size and weight, although he looks very skinny, almost bony. His ears are pretty big and protruding, to his great misfortune.
Cassiel is haughty. Disdainful, contemptuous, arrogant. He looks down on people. He tries to attract the attention of the best, he wants to be admired. This is what you see when you first meet him. This is what he shows. The truth is, he isn't really self-confident. He sometimes doubts about his capacities. Once you've got passed his shell, you can see someone friendly, a bit unsure but someone who will try his best to improve, to get better.
Cassiel doesn't really feels good in his home, but as it's the only one he has ever known, he doesn't complain. Moreover, he is really proud of being pure-blood. His education makes him despise muggleborns, he thinks they are inferior to him and shouldn't be accepted at Hogwarts.
Cassiel was not born in a loving family. His parents, two wizards from great pure-blood families, did not care much about him. To them, he was only the heir of the family, and not their child. The boy is the first son of the family, but he has a little sister named Ophiria, who is one year younger than him. Cassiel was born on November, 12th of 2008, and Ophiria on December, 26th of 2009.
Their father, Cassiel Lowry Sr, is from the Isle of Man, an island between Ireland and Scotland. There, his family has owned the Lowry Manor for many centuries. His wife, Anthea Lowry, was born in the United States, but has moved to London twenty two years ago. She wanted to study with a well-known potion master of the city, and that is where she made the acquaintance of Cassiel Sr. They got engaged a few years after their meeting, with the blessings of their two families. Then, they moved together to the family Manor, in the little town of Knocksharry.
During Cassiel Jr 's childhood, his father was often away on business trips for Gringotts Bank, where he works. His mother too was away, all year round except during school holidays. Indeed, she works as a professor of potions in Ilvermony, and prefers to stay there during class periods rather than apparate every night. Cassiel and Ophiria were therefore brought up by a nanny, Crystal Everett. Her main role was to raise them and to educate them. She was old and very kind to them, but she had to leave when Cassiel was 10 because her sister had health problems and needed assistance.
Thus, the Lowry parents engaged a new governess, Claudia Fuller. Claudia is much more cold with the two kids. It seems like she doesn't care at all about them, that she only considers them as a part of her job.
Once upon a time, in the huge Lowry Manor, a little boy around 5 was crying. It was the end of the holiday and therefore, his mum had to leave, again. But the boy doesn't want his mummy to leave. He wants her to stay with him. As the mother walks towards the door, the boy gets angry. He stops yelling. The mom reaches the door and tries to open it. The door doesn't open. She knows the door wasn't locked, but it is now. She glances at the little boy, smiling. She knows he did it.
