Hello, My name is Matilda Maximus and I am 11 years old. I have dark brown straight hair and very light grey eyes. I have a pale complexion that sometimes gains a little tan in the summer. I’m around 4’4” with a pretty slender build. Folks say I resemble my mom a lot. My moms name is Annabelle and my dad’s is Thomas.

I love animals. My mom told me to always be kind to those who are kind to me, but to also never let people be mean to me either. I love learning new things. I usually keep a few close friends instead of being widely popular.

My mom is a witch and went to Hogwarts like I hope too! She specialized in herbology and, after meeting my dad who is a cattle farmer, my dad gave her a special place on his land to farm magical herbs to sell. I learned how to ride horses and tend to cattle from my dad and how to grow the coolest plants from my mom. My parents decided to homeschool me so I could help on the farm. So if I get accepted to Hogwarts, it will be my first time being with a large group of children. This does scare me since I don’t use a lot of the phrases other kids use. I also have a few phrases my dad taught me that he learned in America. He moved here after meeting my mom at a farmers market. She had visited America with some friends a few months after graduation. She wanted to travel before she decided about a career. He showed her his parents farm and she fell in love with the country. After she had to go back home they talked for a long time. Then one day my dad surprised her by coming to England. They decided to get married. After 3 years my Dad was granted citizenship and started his farm in England with my mom.

I remember one time when I was 5, my dad brought a cow into the barn that was having a hard time having a calf. He needed my moms help and I was too young to stay alone, so I sat in the stall with them and watched. When the calf was born all I could say was “ew”. It made my parents laugh really hard which made me laugh. I noticed it got really quiet so I opened my eyes and hay was floating! Even mine and my moms hair was floating! I gasped and everything fell. I was so scared but my parents grabbed me into the biggest hug and assured me that everything would be ok. I heard my dad say to my mom “Well it’s that time. You said it happened to you around this age too right?” And she replied “Yes! It looks like we might have a future witch for a daughter!” She was so excited! She then reminded him that I would need to be watched very closely so they could teach me to control my emotions so I don’t break the underage magic rule.
