Physical Description: Physical Description: On the tall side, and long limbed, it's hard to tell at this point if Quinlan will fulfil the promises made by his length of limb and actually fill out to match them, or if he's doomed to look eternally slightly stretched. His face is strong boned, with high cheekbones and an long nose and thin mouth that make him look serious and even dour, at least until he grins. At that point his expression is usually almost entirely disarmingly bright, with maybe a little more hint of promised mischief or willingness to fight than his parents would like.

Mental Description: As though he took his own surname to heart, Quinlan tends to ride into battle for the causes he finds just... or well... maybe just interesting. A bit cat like, he can be self contained and come off as cold or dismissive, but usually it's just that he's somewhat lost inside his own head, imagining rambling the country side and poking sticks into holes to see if anything bites. Rather than fidget when bored he tends to become an interesting combination of distracted and what can be described as 'frustratingly boneless', spreading out slowly until he's an extensive stretch of gangling limbs waiting to be tripped over and make things interesting again. He would much rather be hands on than pour through old books, and his studies occasionally suffer for it, but he retains heard and hands on information fairly well. Unfortunately this also means he latches on to whispers and gossip as well, and doesn't always put them to the correct conclusion.

Biography: Born to a Muggle Mother and a Magical Father, and raised with his mother after they divorced, Quin had some early memories about magical things around, but they were only passingly discussed by his frustrated mother, who would much rather put that part of her life behind her... only to discover her gangly son had brought it with him. She loves him dearly, and he's fascinated to have the connection to his fathers world, though he's also quick to poke at the bits he finds strange, and maybe consider afterward if that was maybe more rude than he intended to be.

He spent some time in America with his Aunt and relatives there off and on growing up, leading to some Americanized mannerisms, but is still happy to call England his home, where an hour each way is still considered a long trip and not a short jaunt.

First Instance of Magic: In what's become known around the house as the 'Apparently you WOULD jump off a bridge because your friends did' incident, a younger Quin and his friends decided it would be a marvelous idea to make a rope swing and launch themselves into the water. This might have been a marvelous idea had there not been an daring amount of rocks in the area... and Quin the first one to give it a go to prove himself the best and boldest. Were it not for an incidental burst of magic that turned the rock into something much softer and more pillow like, he might have come away with broken bones or worse, rather than just a great deal of confusion and embarrassment, and a few scrapes as he bounced off and slid down another much more solid piece of stone before being able to slog his way to shore and advise that MAYBE they should look for a different launch point.
