Physical Description: Short, even for her age, Merle appears rather unassuming. Sporting a long, wavy brown hair, and blue eyes, she wears her heart on her sleeve though, and tends to have a rather expressive face and body language. Despite her short height, she appears to be energetic enough, even if not athletic; clearly not used to sitting down with nothing to do for long periods of time.

Mental Description: In a phrase, a bit of a self contained explosion waiting to happen. Merle has a temper. And opinions. Boy does she have opinions, let her sit you down and tell you about them! She's generally cheerful enough though, unless rubbed the wrong way or pushed. Despite her small stature and her dainty looks, she tends to disallow anyone trying to push her around, and though it's... questionable just how successful she is at deterring said behavoir physically (almost about as threatening as a like a small munchkin kitten hissing and spitting at you), there's at least a very clear, obvious attempt at it.

Open minded about blood purity, given her own half blood status, and with a semi good knowledge of how the muggle world works, on accord of having a muggle father. Much more comfortable within the wizarding world, however, as she has spent more time with her relatives on her mother's side than on her father's side while younger.

Biography: Born the only child to a witch that had left aside the wizarding world post wizarding war, Merle was initially raised almost entirely muggle. While her father had known about his wife's power, it was decided that they would remain in the muggle world unless Merle showed instances of magic, both her parents believing it to be the healthiest thing to do for their daughter. Upon her first use of unrestrained magic, however, it was decided they would relocate to the wizarding world, and whereas her mother had first been forced to adapt, it was then her father's turn to do likewise; the man succeeded as admirably as is to be expected for a muggle, however, and most of her life was spent being raised by her parents, and her mother's extended family.

All in all, given darker times were mostly behind them, Merle did not really experiment a particularly hectic or strange childhood, though she was home taught for the majority of it.

First Instance of Magic: Her temper showed even as a small child, where upon a muggle playground, she set fire to a child's clothes when said child not only pushed her over, but stole a beloved toy. There was no lasting damage on the child, nor any injuries aside from some singed hair and perhaps, less of a will to pick on children smaller than him. The incident was small enough that Merle's mother was able to fly by under muggle radar, but the instance of magic made it clear Merle would need a wizarding education, and thus, her mother took the necessary steps.
