Physical Description: Sylvester appears to be a cheerful boy, with his mouth being his most noticeable feature, drawing into a wide smile or smirk depending on the situation at hand. He's of average size and height, with straight brown hair, hazel eyes that appear curious with a constant hint of mischief, and a fair complexion.
Mental Description: Sylvester is an energetic, curious boy who enjoys getting to know other people and the world around him. Somewhat rebellious, he has no problem going against the status quo and enjoys messing with both his friends and enemies alike. While he has no problem taking shortcuts if they achieve a result, he can also be surprisingly hardworking if there's no easy way to achieve a goal in sight. Though if a subject doesn't interest or appears useless to him he'll make much less of an effort. Honest to a fault, he has no problem pointing out the truth about those around him and the situations they find themselves in, often giving unsolicited advice. However, he does have a thick skin himself and is able to take similar home truths well, as long as he views them as honest.
Biography: Growing up with his mother and father in Glasgow, Sylvester lived a fairly average life prior to receiving his Hogwarts letter. His family were never wealthy but always did their best to provide him with the basics he needed for school and despite his tendency to get into trouble, he's close with both of his parents. At school, he was fairly popular, with a large group of friends. He typically played the class clown and he and his group often found themselves in trouble due to the various antics they got involved in.
First Instance of Magic: When he was eight, Sylvester and his friends were being chased by a group of boys after school, following the result of a prank earlier that day. Sylvester had been separated from his friends and found himself cornered by the group. However as one of the boys reached out to shove him, an invisible shield seemed to suddenly appear around Sylvester, protecting him from harm. After a few moments of trying to break through the shield, the group gave up, allowing Sylvester to travel the rest of the way home in safety, eventually brushing the entire incident off as good luck when he was unable to find a decent explanation.
