Physical Description: Dark brown, mostly straight, chest-long hair. Blue eyes, lots of freckles on light skin. Slim build of relatively average height, slightly tending towards short.
Mental Description: Others would describe her as quiet, mysterious, perhaps aloof depending on the subjective perception of the onlooker. She is a very creative, thoughtful and philosophical soul at a young age already, as well as especially intelligent (which her parents raised her to be) and, when in the right company, witty. A bit of, but not quite, an "outsider" regarding social circles. Kat is very passionate and emotional about many things, and while she usually doesn't show it on the surface, she can get vocal and determined about certain topics - including when her opinions are controversial. While she wants to be more accepted and belong with people her age (and is hurting very much that it often doesn't seem to be that way - feeling shunned), a part of her has a certain immunity regarding others' judgement. This helps with her out-of-the-box thinking, sometimes behaviour, and general stubbornness when it comes to being herself. She loves "deep" things that seem to be out of the ordinary and evoke emotions. Other than that, she tends to be melancholic, and feel sad and lonely. (There is a growing bravery in her, perhaps as a result of the family environment she grew up in, as well as having had to walk it alone sometimes.)
She's fluent in English, almost advanced in German and knows a few flecks of Scottish Gaelic.
Biography: Kat was born in Ullapool, Scotland, on the 4th October 2008 to two German parents who, from their home country, had migrated to the even chillier north. Her younger brother was born when she was 8, soon after which her parents divorced and the children, together with their mother, moved to Elgin. Her mother, struggling with both caring for her children and working for income alone, let it out mostly on Kat, seemingly favouring her little brother. The girl was saved from the treatment of her mother when she was unexpectedly called to Hogwarts at 11.
First Instance of Magic: In the local park when she was 3 - she sneezed and catapulted a cat into the air for a wee while when her family was looking (any other onlookers... never seemed to make the connection).
