Hello, my name is Otorva Kritt. I'm Muggle-Born but not too long ago I didn't even know what that meant because I only just recently discovered that I could actually use magic—and not that much like the Disney-sort.

My parents are both muggles—that means they can't use magic at all. Somehow I won the universal gene baby lottery and got magic powers, or something like that. But I wasn't born knowing this, and my family didn't know either. One morning when I was five I woke up just floating above my bed, and boy was it a shock! I think it had something to do with me floating the day before for hours, it seemed like, and the tranquility of it followed me to my dreams. Honestly I would've just thought it was a dream if my cat hadn't seen it! Unfortunately he was the only witness and my parents didn't believe me until I received my letter from Hogwarts, handed to me by a professor of magic themself.

I was born on May 7th, 2009, which makes eleven now. I look my age because I'm a bit of a stick, an average on at 4'11" but I'm definitely stronger than I look, since I used to swim and hike a lot. I have very light caramel skin and I'm a natural brunette but this summer I dyed one side of my hair blond. My eyes are also dark brown and I have some scars here and there from playing accidents but nothing major. I'm half Filipino and half Latvian, but I look primarily Filipino.

My family consists of me, my younger brother Keanu, and my parents Nenita and Samuil Kritt. Oh, and I can't forget our cat Adolphus. He was our grandfather's before he passed away. We live in a small neighborhood in Bude, England where I went to school with non-magic kids before the Big News. Although it was exciting finding out that I was a witch at first, now it's more than a little daunting because I'm going to be experiencing a whole new world, apparently.

I don't really like describing myself because it makes me feel vain but I think I'm a pretty average kid. I get into trouble occasionally because I like to have fun and I'm somewhat stubborn cause I like to do things my way, but other than that I'm a star child. For now, at least. All of this novelty that I've been experiencing has left me quite dumbfounded and at a lost for words so most people find me quiet, something like a 'lady of few words', but really I'm just trying to understand everything that's going on. The 'other' world is so much more mundane and simple compared to the wizarding world so pardon me as I get my feet wet.

Other than swimming and hiking, I like to sing and freestyle dance. Sometimes I write poems and make origami for my grandma because she thinks I have a gift in the arts but I just do those things when I'm bored. At school my favorite subject was science because of how abstract it is, though I really use the word 'extraordinary'. I only liked the experimental parts because it gave me a chance to do something cool that only I could think of—within the boundaries of safety rules, of course. You could say that I'm a fuse full of imagination close to bursting but I'm just really good at holding it all together.
