Nora Green was born in the mainstream city of Dublin in Ireland to Richard and Naomi Green, two pure blood members of the Green family line originating from medieval times. She has dark brown hair with sky blue eyes and stands at 5'3" with a physically fit frame, climbing trees and running being her favorite hobbies. When Nora was just three years old, her parents were murdered by a witch wanting to convert the strongest witches and wizards to dark magic but they refused to take any part in the dark arts.
Nora was raised by her Grandmother, Aama, who taught her the ways of witchcraft in a small community of witches and wizards, away from the prying eyes of muggles. Nora had been left a substantial amount of money in her parents will but she does not use it, not wanting to be considered something she isn't because of her family's wealth and her inheritance. Since the day Nora witnessed her parents murdered, she had never been quite the same.
She was a bright and welcoming child but as she grew older, she became withdrawn and was too shy to venture to meet new people. She is very insecure and unsure of her abilities although she learns quickly and seldom fails when she puts her mind to something. She spent much time in the dark forest on the outskirts of the town in which she lived, finding a group of Thestral that she began to feed. No one else could see the creatures and they became the only companions Nora had.
Nora's life was fairly normal being a pure blood among the others in her community until one day when she was leaving the forest and smelled smoke on the wind. She rushed to the town and hid behind a building, peering from around the corner to see her Grandmother and the others gathered in the center of the street while the town was burning around them.
They were told to join the dark magic but when they refused, one by one each of the people she had grown up alongside were murdered and their bodies, stacked and burned. Nora began to believe she was cursed, everyone she ever loved having being murdered and leaving her alone.
Nora was found by a witch when her town was flooded with witches and wizards of high importance came to investigate what they feared had occurred. It was then that she had been told she would attend Hogwarts, the school her Grandmother said she would be attending when she reached the age of 11, and was taken to the school where she would now live until she graduated.
Nora is still withdrawn and comes off a bit odd, having accepted death and holding no fear of it. She is shy and because she believes she is cursed to see those she loves die she refuses to get close to anyone. One of the professors took her into the woods near the school when they heard of the creatures sha had come to care for and there she found more of the horses she fell in love with. If she is not on the grounds she can most likely be found in the woods, befriending any and all creatures she comes across, preferring their companionship over people.
