Hello,
It's me, Rue Alistar!

Let's start with a few things about myself. I'm a ambivert girl who's very passionate about reading, writing, video gaming, pranking, and martial arts.

My father and mother were from prestigious pureblood families. At the time, Voldemort had returned, had infiltrated the Ministry and was hunting down Harry Potter. Scared that the Death Eaters would come to recruit our family, my grand parents fled to Russia while they sent mum and dad off to the States at the mere age of 18. Years later, they were married and had my younger sister and I.

We lived in the Wizarding part of New York, where it was quite comfortable actually. We had a spacious home, not big as some kind of manor but bigger than the average. I spent my time hanging reading, writing, and creating mischief with the neighbor's kids. When my mum gave birth to my sister, I was delighted to have a sibling! But soon that delight turned into annoyance. She turned out to be even more troublesome than me! And that's saying a lot. We soon developed a hate-love sibling relationship.

At the age of eight, when I didn't show any signs of having the ability to preform magic, my parents grew concerned. They soon concluded that I couldn't preform magic. I was disappointed at first, but I soon came to accept it.

One day, one of my older mates, Alex, told me about the dark lake by the woods at the edge of town. My 8 year old self was curious, so we went to explore and find a bit more about it. After getting lost a few times, we arrived there by sundown. The lake was probably the most magnificent thing I've ever seen. It was located where the woods end, encircled in pebbles and rocks which glistened in warm light of the sunset. The color of the lake was obsidian, and looked as if it contained red, purple and green diamonds inside it which glowed. Alex warned me to not get closer, as it may be dangerous. But I didn't listened, I was captivated by the beauty. I stepped into the shallow water which came half way up to my knees. I started to move closer but something tripped me, and I splashed into the water. The water may have brought me to my sense, as I heard Alex running up to me, screaming and started to move my arms and legs vigorously to gain balance. As I felt a reptile like animal slither up my leg, I whimpered. I felt too fangs sink into my skin, I screamed loudly. Black dots started dancing around in front of me, and everything went black.

I woke up the next morning in my bed. I later found out that Alex had brought me home unconscious. It turns out the thing creature that bit me was an unknown species. I wasn't dead, so the venom was probably not poisonous. When my father and some others went out to look for that lake in hopes of finding that creature, the lake was all dried up, only pieces of obsidian and gems littered the place.

A few weeks later my parents decided to move back to the U.K. to pay attention to the family business better. But I still think they decided to move because of my incident, to get away from the lake and be as far away from it as possible.

So on the day I arrived in London, I was at my beloved Aunt Selena's house since my parents were busy setting up the house along with the helpers. My aunt, who's a squib, lives in muggle London and is the one who introduced me to the wonderful world of muggle technology. As a pureblood family, my grandparents were shocked, a bit disappointed that their child would one way or another be a bit left out, but still shocked. Luckily they didn't have much prejudice compared to other purebloods. But they soon came around it, as my mother told me. Now, Aunt Selena works as a muggle healer at a place she described as the muggle version of St. Mungo's.

Anyways, while playing my new found love called video games, I got a bit tired, so I had a sudden urge to drink water. But I couldn't just get up and get it, and I couldn't ask my aunt either, she went to a muggle store to get groceries. And I had a virtual monster to defeat! It was a moral crisis for a 9-year-old. On one side, the sweet haven of water to defeat the monster named thirst, and on the other side, a virtual and totally real town to be saved from the dark, slimy goo monster. While my hands moved on the controller and my eyes began slipping to look towards the door besides my enormous book shelf full of books and video games. I just wished it would rain inside, just so I can satisfy my thirst.

Well, it did.

It turns out I'm a witch after all. My parents, when they found out, were over the moon. They thought I was a late bloomer. I thought so too. But maybe, just maybe, it's because of that incident at the lake. It may be bizarre, but it's a possibility.

Over the years, I was able to keep my magic a bit more under control with the help of my parents. I became even more interested in reading ever since I found the humongous library at our manor. Soon I began spending all my time curling up with books, not bothering to make new friends. Which worried my mum. So she hired some tutors and an instructor.

The tutors, along with giving me a head start on some subjects like magical history and astrology, taught me the art of painting. At first I enjoyed it, it calmed me, but as I painted, it became more and more frustrating. Let's just say I have a hot temper, and it didn't end up well. My mum decided to replace painting with etiquette lessons, which I surprisingly didn't detest.

The instructor, being a muggle born, deemed that along with having physical exercise everyday, I should also practice self defense, without magic. She thought it was necessary I knew how to defend myself incase I was in peril without any magical assistance. I genuinely enjoyed martial arts-as the muggles call them-, it helped me get rid of my anger and frustration, which was mostly caused by every little thing in the world around me. The bonus was I was ready to fight against danger- only if required.

That was my life till the letter came, books, tutors, a hardcore instructor, occasional visits to the muggle world. The letter kind of changer my routine. I became more and more excited about going to Hogwarts- doing something new and exciting! I started spending more time in my room, sitting idle, and imagining what it would be like. When my parents finally took me to Diagon Alley to get my supplies, I was basically bouncing up and down on my toes! I begged my parents to allow me to take a pet to Hogwarts, but they said that when I'm a bit more "responsible." Like I'm not already!

Finally the day came to set off to my journey, I gave mum and dad a hug and took my trolley and ran into the wall, keeping my eyes shut, hopping this wasn't a cruel joke from my parents to get back at me for putting a pixie in their wardrobe. I opened my eyes to see a giant train with the name Hogwarts Express. I smiled. This is it. I rolled my trolley a bit more towards the enormous train to get a better look at it. To get a better look at the portkey towards my own adventure.
