A tall, lanky girl with short black hair and a pale freckled face. She is boney and often too thin despite her insatiable appetite. Stands a bit over the average hight for her age, seeing as she is mostly legs.

Ophelia grew up in a suburban home, raised by her single father after mother died in childbirth. Her father was a muggle, and didn't know how to raise his daughter who had inherited her mothers gift for magic.

Ophelia displayed little magic as a child besides a strange ability to anticipate danger. On her 6th birthday, she climbed to the top of the highest tree in her yard. A branch broke beneath her, and gravity took hold. To her, and everyone's surprise, her fall slowed about three feet off the ground, and she floated safely to the grass. After this, her father watched much more carefully. This gift only seemed to arise on accident, or when she was in danger: A vase would topple off a table only to float down gently, or she would drop a cup of hot tea and it would suddenly be cool. Sometimes, it reacted when she was emotional: candles blazing to life without being touched, light bulbs flickering or even shattering.

Her father eventually had enough, and begged his wife's family to explain what was going on. After a lengthy explanation, he decided she would be best living with people who knew how to handle magical puberty.

Ophelia went to live with her mother's brother and his husband. There she learned how to sort of anticipate things, if only the emotional responses. Still inexperienced, but eager to learn, she now awaits her letter to hogwarts.
