Eleanor is a pure-blood witch from a rich family in Brighton. Her parents own a successful business that she is the heir to. Ever since her childhood Eleanor has experienced pressure to be level-headed, ambitious, success-oriented, and to not show weakness. She is spoiled with material possessions but her family is rather emotionally distant. Her family is influential and has a large social network. Eleanor has always been told to only socialize with people who are "worthy" of her attention a.k.a. people who are descendants of influential and powerful people. Eleanor has always been aware of the existence of magic and has been taught that the magical world is superior to the muggle world. Her firsts encounter with magic occurred when she was five. Her older cousin who had tendencies to bully her had locked her inside a cupboard. Her fear and anger resulted in a burst of magic which burst the cupboard doors open, breaking its lock.
Eleanor often seems cold and self-absorbed but she is loyal to the people she is closest to. Due to her family's influential position, Eleanor could be described as somewhat stuck up, at times cunning (you do not want to get on her wrong side) and careful about who she acquaints herself with. She is hesitant to trust people or to show vulnerability due to her past but has a softer side which she rarely displays. Eleanor takes school seriously as her family greatly values intelligence, however, she is secretly insecure about her abilities. Eleanor doesn't admit it because she wants to appear naturally smart, but behind closed doors, she often spends the nights studying in order to not tarnish the family name.
