Personality

Energetic and friendly, with a dash of innocent mischievousness. Always has a helping hand and a good sense of humor handy. However, he also has an insatiable curiosity, a gift for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the clumsiness of a growing adolescent. Can be impulsive and plucky in dangerous situations, though it sometimes backfires.

Appearance

Dirty-blonde hair. On the shorter side of average height for his age, though genetics suggest he'll hit a growth spurt soon. Has the slim build of an energetic 11-year-old. Warm, brown eyes and an easy smile. Thanks to his mom’s occupation, his clothing and hair style are always on trend.

Magic Discovery

Clifton first discovered his magic when he was six years old. One day, at school, he went to jump off the swing like always, only this time he launched himself clear up onto the top of the school building. They had to call the fire department to get him down—once he’d thrown all the missing kickballs and frisbees to his friends, of course. It also caused the Ministry to have to step in and change some memories. Now, everyone just remembers Clifton being brave (or foolhardy) and climbing onto the roof to get the toys down.

Family

Clifton’s father is from the States, so they visit there often. His father works as a historian while his mother is both a clothing designer and an event planner. Clifton’s only sibling is his baby sister, Clover.

History

Other than the unusual scrapes he manages to land himself in, Clifton’s childhood has been a happy one. They live in a quaint location where he can spend a lot of time exploring. He has built up an impressive collection of anything that catches his interest: friends, video games, books, weird rocks, puzzle-toys, art supplies, trading cards, seashells, sports gear, and relics his dad has given him.

The one thing he is not allowed to explore or experiment with is his magic. Clifton struggles with wanting to do exactly what he is told not to do, but he obeys (usually). While they weren't present for the flying incident, other cases have caused his frightened parents to bring him to specialists of all sorts to see if anyone can diagnose it. The Ministry received word of their frantic efforts and, afraid they’d run into the wrong sort or attract unneeded attention, again stepped in and sent a half-blood wizard and distant family friend Leo to explain.

His parents have decided he can go for at least a year, to see what its about, though his mom is not a fan of the robes. His dad finds all the old-timey stuff interesting, but overall, they hope that a school for kids with the same oddity will help “cure” him.

Clifton is sad to leave his friends, but he is excited for a new adventure. He wants real answers and is ready to be in a place where people aren’t prodding and prying to figure out what’s “wrong” with him.
