Jamie Steele was born in the fishing port town of Killybegs, County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland to Anthony and Mary Steele. Jamie is the 4th of 5 children and the only boy in the family, his older sisters Mairead, Aoife and Ella have all made their way through Hogwarts following in their parents footsteps. The age gap of 5 years meaning young Jamie would have to brave the school on his own at least for a year before the youngest of the family, Sophie, was to join him., something he was looking forward to with glee as being the 4th of 5 children didn't provide much of an opportunity to be the experienced older sibling! Jamie is an athletic boy who has been playing the traditional gaelic sport of football since he was a small child, in fact his first inkling of his magical gift happened on the gaelic pitch, while playing for his local youth club his team found itself tied late in the game needing only a single point to win the youth county title, being brash and wanting to be the hero he had ignored the obvious pass that seemed to all to be the most prudent course of action and let go of the ball driving a powerful boot into it towards the upright posts. As it became clear to him that the ball was heading to the right and with the fear of being a failure he put all of his mental power on envisioning the ball that was streaking through the air jerking suddenly to the left which, to his astonishment and the bewilderment of the crowd and the science of physics, is exactly what happened. His parents shared a knowing look in the crowd as their son leapt in celebration. Jamie is gifted in many ays but will need to learn to rely on others and to be more inquisitive to be successful at Hogwarts and continue his proud family wizarding tradition.
