Tobias, better known as Toby, is a young boy with dark champagne-colored hair and gray eyes. He is relatively tall for his age, standing in at 5'2", although he has somewhat of a babyface. His hair is typically a bit messy. He is very clean.

Toby is very sweet. He spent a lot of his time as a child either alone or with his nanny, which is why he enjoys meeting new people so much. He is very understanding and empathetic, and he is easily able to recognize when someone wants to be left alone. He's easily startled, but he is able to laugh it off most of the time. He is also incredibly loyal to others. Toby will do anything in his power to make people happy, even if it means sacrificing something that matters to him. He can be quite gullible at times, falling for obvious pranks or believing in anything someone tells him. Toby has a very strong fascination with animals. He especially likes insects.

Tobias Aaron Welles was born and raised in Stratford, England with American parents who had moved there just a few months after being married. Both of his parents were very caring but never had much time to spend with him since they were constantly busy. This meant that Toby spent most of his time with his nanny, a young man named Ephraim Brown. Ephraim, a pureblood wizard, was able to recognize his magical ability almost immediately when Toby began playing with a swarm of moths at the age of 7. Because of this, Ephraim was able to convince Toby's parents to allow him to go to Hogwarts once he turned eleven by convincing them he was taking the boy to a boarding school.
