Magic has been a part of Haven’s family for ages, even on the Muggle side of the family. Her great aunt was a very successful Dragonologist, and there have been traces of magic for years. Her father, Hayden, comes from an old wizarding family, not old enough to be pureblood, but close to it. How they met was the interesting part.
After years of training, Hayden Bohannon had found himself as a successful Hit Wizard. Hazel was working as a zookeeper at the Belfast Zoo. A surprising incident involving a runaway pixie, sphynx, and a rather furious hippopotamus brought the two together. You could probably guess what happened next, as proven by Haven’s existence.

As a child, Haven was very curious, wandering around everywhere, looking at everything. She enjoyed exploring the beach along their property in Lettermullan, Ireland. Shells provided building blocks for her imagination; in her mind, she was a princess, and the family’s cat, Merlin, was the royal kitty cat. It wasn’t much, but it was all hers.

At the age of 5, she was enrolled in a Muggle school. She loved her senior infants class. In fact, it was where her first case of accidental magic happened. In her defense, she REALLY wanted those jellybeans. As an added bonus, eating the jellybeans soothed the guilt she felt for somehow managing to get them off the tall shelf in the first place.
Other little things popped up over the years. Like when the flowers she planted didn’t grow after two days, she huffed and puffed and when she looked again, they were blossoming. She was ecstatic at that. She ran around, yelling her excitement until she sneezed and glitter came out her nose. Needless to say, that was an interesting day.

It was small things that happened, and somehow, excuses always appeared for them. Haven never really understood why, but as she got older, it started to make more sense. It was two days after her 11th birthday when all the pieces finally clicked into places.
“Dear Ms. Bohannon,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.”

Her eyes scanned over the green ink multiple times. This was it, it was really happening! Haven squealed with joy before running over to her parents. She was excited. This would be the start of her life. Hogwarts, here she comes!

...Well, not quite yet. She still had to get her supplies and such. It didn’t take long, however, as she was much too excited to wait. Haven and her family took a trip to Diagon Alley the next weekend so Haven could collect all the things she needed. After accidentally blowing up a few things at Ollivander’s, the family took a stop at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour. That’s where she met someone and started a friendship.
As for the rest, it can’t be said. Her story is still writing itself out.
To be continued...
