Nationality:
Welsh

Llanidan, Wales
Function:
Fourth year, Hufflepuff
Wand:
29,2 cm willow wood and thunderbird tail feather
Appearance:
This blonde-red haired boy seems like a pretty average kid at first glance. His long hair that reaches his shoulders stands out as a defining feature, but is not necessarily strange to see. His darker blue eyes are strikingly similar to the hue of the channel on a good day. A sign of his muggle childhood are the braces on his teeth. They are subtle but still noticeable when he smiles. He is slim but not skinny, clearly an active kid.

History:
Often a last name implies the job your ancestors had in the distant past. The Fish family had always joked about what this could mean for them. In fact, it had likely been what led many of the family to take up swimming and even win some Olympic medals. Others became fishermen in some odd twist of humor. Donald Fish's father had broken all tradition and become an accountant instead. It meant no weird trips for sports or long fishing trips where dad was gone. Early childhood was pretty normal.

Donnie grew up in a fully muggle family that knew and suspected nothing of magic. He learned to skateboard young and his dad taught him to play cards. His mother, also an accountant, taught him about hiking and nature. She was an avid climber and hiker, hoping to pass some of that on to her son. Donnie's mom's side of the family were the outdoors type and always wanted to do big trips with all the cousins. Camping and trekking into the wild were common place.

It was on one of these family camping trips that bore witness to Donald's first magical accident. Older cousins tend to pick on the younger ones from time to time, as is normal. This trip had a particularly nasty set of teasing that had a six year old Donald upset. They'd throw little rocks at his tent, try to scare him, and would jokingly push him towards cliffs. Revenge was imagined but not taken, because he was too small. Magic had another thing to say. The next time his cousins tried to throw rocks at his tent, the rocks turned out to be scorpions. This was of course written off as a complete accident that the cousins got spooked and stung. No one suspected magic, but Donnie knew something was odd.

Little things like that would occur here and there, but nothing concrete enough to make him believe. At eleven years old he got the letter and everything clicked for Donald. He was a wizard and all the unexplained in his life made sense. His parents were shocked, and hardly believed it at first even with explanations from the Ministry. From then on life would be different for all of them.

Personality:
Donald is a nice kid who was taught to always do the right thing. He tries his best to avoid bullying others and to help out when he can, but he also learned to keep a tough shell. Growing up in a competitive family meant not letting the guard down too much. Boys could be rough if you showed weakness. Confidence is emitted but is not very genuine. Donnie is usually worried others will judge him or that he will mess up. Spending time with friends is the most enjoyable thing in his mind. Adventures and events are usually just excuses to hang out rather than being good on their own merit. Relaxing and enjoying life are more important than accomplishing tasks in Donnie's mind.
