Riku's a simple boy to be honest. Enjoys a good laugh and fun when he can; likes to experience anything and everything at least twice. Also has fondness for writing in his free time or reading anything that catches his interest.

More territorial than isolationist, though does like to take a breather and recharge in his space every now and then. That's until his friends would drag him out of it for more of their escapades.

However, like everyone, there are sides that remain hidden, except for the few that had been allowed to know them. 'To see others suffer does one good, to make others suffer even more: this is a hard saying but an ancient, mighty, human, all-too-human principle. Without cruelty there is no festival.'

A boy of a dark complexion and slim build, he has his mother's black silky hair, which he keeps short, and stands at 4'11"; which says great things about meeting his father's impressive height of 6' 3"

His love for reading comes from his muggle Japanese mother, who practices as an environmental psychologist for the government. As a strict, goal oriented woman, her standards have always been the bar that Riku had to meet, but meeting them meant the freedom and ability to do as he pleased within reason.

His father gave him his love for structure and routine. Having to work as an oblivator made his father desire a well kept and orderly home. The odd working hours meant that he was both present and gone from Riku's life, but helped to ease both him and his mother into the magical world when he started doing accidental magic; the first of which occurred when he caused his sheets to glow a luminous blue after watching a horror movie at 7,and was unable to go to sleep.

Riku treasured few things, the most important one was his time. Knowing years ahead that her only child wouldn't be attaining a proper muggle education, Riku's mother push him; accepting only the best and within a specific period. He struggled, he thrived, but most importantly he had adapted. His reward was the ability to do as he pleased for a day.

Earning those days were a delight to Riku. The ability to read what he wished, do as he wished, relax as he wished; was a fair trade to the young boy.

'Do what you must, so you can do what you want', a common saying he would tell himself whenever he felt particularly frustrated.

But beside those moments, he enjoyed when his free time coincided with his parents available time. Being a muggle, his mother was naturally fascinated with the Wizarding world; specifically what his father called the 'mind arts'. Listening to the their discussions and wanting to both impress and belong created a deep desire to learn this gift. That, and the potential it held for someone like him...
