Maude is a person who is generally shy, but decided that the best way to get over her anxiety is to speak to everyone she meets, that is if they will stick around for longer than a month. She is generally observant, and tries to read in between the lines - usually because she over-analyzes. She generally trusts people and likes to maintain a degree of independence - where she grew up helps fuel that, due to accessibility of travel throughout the city. She wants to have close friends but struggles, and seemingly ends up usually with more friends that she might not know as well than a few that she might know very well. She struggles with true empathy, and sometimes her words may end up being harsh. She is a little mischievous, but still not yet enough to really go against authority. Getting caught, for her, is truly the worst feeling. She found that the best way to get attention was to play pranks, so thus she began to do them, though rather she enjoys joking around verbally than planning grandiose pranks to play. Her favorite expression is to laugh, but she is shy about it.

Her hair is brown, usually in either a braid or two. Her skin is fair, and her eyes are a gray-blue color. She either usually has a mischievous smile or neutral face, depending on her mood.

Maude grew up in the City of Westminster with her parents. Her father is a Wizard and her mother a Muggle, and she grew up familiar with the concept of magic as her father worked for the Ministry of Magic, and her mother owned a cafe-florist store. She started her education at a Muggle school and made some good friends, though she can’t recall being particularly close with any of them, as she found herself at home most days since she lived a little farther than the rest of them. She was always aware of her magic background, though generally her father and mother tried to stick to Muggle ways while raising her, so minimal magic was performed unless her (paternal) grandparents were coming to visit. She often looked forward to these displays of magic, however, and would try as often as she could to get her father to perform some for her, and on occasion he would. Due to long hours at the Ministry he would more often than not be away, leaving time for her and her mother. She wished that her family would be a little closer, but understands that in order to support them they must be working for long hours, so she grew up a little lonelier. As she grew older, however, she knew that she at some point would be attending Hogwarts, made a conscious decision to distance herself from the friends she made, though it is something she regrets, as she did it too soon, so she hopes to make better and closer friends at Hogwarts.

Maude’s magic first surfaced around five years old. She was setting up a little prank on her mother, and it ended up working a little too well, she put a fake bug under a lampshade, only for real ones to actually start crawling out when her mother discovered, and Maude enjoying the prank far too much. They unfortunately had to call in an exterminator, and her pranks were severely limited in the home from then on.
