Kevin O'Reilly is a 11-year-old child from Dublin, Ireland. He inherited his bright red hair from his father and his freckles from his mother. He grew up just out side of Dublin and was born to Phillip and Mary Kate O'Reilly. He is the older brother of Olive O'Reilly. Though he looks like an angel, Kevin is actually quite competitive. During his time growing up, he played many sports but really enjoyed soccer (football). Despite his competitive nature, Kevin is a very caring and humble child, having grown up attending a muggle school (despite his pure-blood status).

A little after his 7th birthday is when Kevin showed displays of accidental magic. Such as summoning his baby sister's pacifier to stop her crying. It was an accident really, Kevin had been trying to read and his sister's cries had been loud and heartbreaking. So, Kevin, who had the purest intentions, simply wished she would be quiet. It was only when Olive stopped crying did their parents realize Kevin had summoned her pacifier from the nursery upstairs. Another incident of accidental magic, which was once again revolved around his younger sister (2 at the time), was Kevin's ability to stop a bookshelf that was about to fall on him and his little sister who had been playing on the two bottoms shelves. The shelf had not been mounted to the wall and when Olive had tugged a bit too hard on the bottom shelves it began to tip.

It was only's Kevin's quick instincts of shielding his sister that had stopped the shelf (as well as it's knickknacks) from falling and possibly injuring the both of them. Mary Kate nor Phillip knew if it had been levitation, for the shelf had simply stuck in the tilted position. It was only after Kevin and Olive had been moved did the shelf fall to the ground. Kevin's humbleness and protectiveness over his sister grew from there. Kevin got much praise that night and his dreams of attending Hogwarts bloomed.

Although he (and his parents) knew he was going to develop his magic eventually, Kevin's parents taught him that he could not always depend on it. Kevin took those words to heart and despite loving magic and all his family can do, he wants to learn how to use it for good instead of for himself.
