At eleven years of age, Callum was as any child his age could be. Full of mirth, a taste for adventure, and a seemingly endless wanderlust. Standing slightly above average at 152.5cm (5 ft.) for a boy of his age, Callum has short, unkempt, sandy brown hair. His mother, Camilla, often remarks of his bed-head and wishes he would take a brush to it once in a while. The rebellious nature of an eleven-year-old makes that a virtually impossible ask. His round face is almost always adorned with a wry smile as if up to no good. Callum was raised in a primarily muggle based town of Rosehall, Scotland. As such, even with his father and mother both being wizards, he had little interaction with the wizarding world, though he was able to go to the Quidditch World Cup in 2014 when Bulgaria won.
He barely remembers it as he was only six years of age. Still, his father, Eoghan, collected the news clippings from then and Callum has a recording of the reports by Ginevra Potter during her coverage of the matches he frequently listens to. It was actually at this particular Quidditch World Cup when Callum first started to show his latent magical abilities. His father was viewing the match through a normal pair of binoculars, and Callum was itching to look for himself when suddenly the binoculars flew from his father’s hands and passed Callum’s outstretched hands and over the edge of the railing to fall below. Callum would also show the ability to make household plants grow randomly, such as small flowers blooming. It was quite evident to his parents that he had latent magical abilities and knew too well that the letter would be arriving when he turned eleven.
As Callum grew ever closer to that pivotal age, he showed much more interest in the Wizarding World and, in particular – above and beyond Quidditch – he fell in love with magical creatures. He had decided that this would be one of his primary focuses when attending Hogwarts. Since the age of nine, he has put on his Christmas list every year the desire for a Niffler as a pet. In the two years that have past he hasn’t gotten one, but he still holds out hope, especially now that he’s received his Hogwarts letter and is finally attending the prestigious wizarding school.
