Oliver Averill
Status:
Half-blood
Nationality:
English
Residence:
Canterbury, England
Function:
First year, Slytherin
Wand:
34,5 cm cherry wood and dragon heartstring
PERSONALITY: The positive aspects of his personality can be described as curious, observant, practical and intelligent. Oliver can also be dismissive, prideful and somewhat self conscious. When he senses something is wrong, he has no hesitation about standing up and making a fuss, though it always leave him embarrassed about it afterwards. In private or with familiar friends, Oliver allows himself to be excitable and supportive, as he's not as tense around others. A few negative aspects of his personality are that he can be haughty and uncooperative, and at his very worst he can be vindictive, obsessive and callous.

APPEARANCE: Oliver stands currently at 4'9, a bit short for the average boy of his age. He's pale skinned, with it edging on a bit pallid looking. Oliver is thin and willowy and looks like you can push him over with a gentle shove, but this hides a ferocity that can be surprising to witness. His hair is very messy and unruly with a bit of curl; an unattractive mousy brown color. His facial features can be described as strong despite his physical appearance, with a Roman nose and round, milky brown eyes.

BACKGROUND: Oliver was born in Stuttgart, Germany. However, his parents moved to Canterbury, England when he was only a baby, so his childhood was shaped by British culture. His father is a German-born wizard who attended Durmstrang Institute, while his mother is a muggle who moved to Germany for a brief time for university, where they both met. His childhood in Canterbury was quite idealistic, until the breakdown of his parents' marriage when Oliver was seven. His parents now both live in different houses with shared custody, but even with his parents on somewhat amicable terms, the divorce was intensely frightening to a young Oliver, which caused him to begin to develop his quiet personality.
- The first instance of his magic appearing is rather unceremonious- Oliver was sitting in his home, at the kitchen table, when his mother dropped a pan. He then set the bouquet in the middle of the table on fire.
