Amalia is a young English girl, born to Silvia and Preston Hawthorn. She had always been a rather quiet girl, preferring to surround herself with one or two friends rather than be in a large group. If anything, she was more in tune with nature rather than actual people. She loved the plants and animals she was able to see. She dreamed of being a botanist one day, and maybe even use the herbs she found to create new medicines! It was not found out that she was a wizard until a rather unusual experience occurred. It actually came from a simple sneeze, but a gust of wind had entered the room at that very moment. Her family brushed it off as a mere draft, however coincidentally timed it might have been. They were muggles, so they did not know of the magic existing in their world. You can imagine how shocking it was for them when they found out the power their daughter actually had, and they were even a little frightened. Their precious baby girl was a witch, which was not a very comforting thought. They were in denial at first, but later accepted what they could not change, and allowed her daughter to go to this new school, very reluctantly, of course. They were very supportive of her new role, and promised to never tell a soul.
