Levi Sage Matthews was born in Glasgow, Scotland to a muggle mother and a pure-blood father. The marriage of the two was accepted by both families, though Levi's paternal family were worried that the children of their son might not have any magical ability. It was such a cause of stress that Levi's parents decided to move away from England - where their families were - and just have one child, one who came to be born in late March about two years after they married.

Levi grew up knowing about magic, (his father never hid who he was and was adamant about his family knowing his son) but no one was sure he had any magical ability for about five years. It became clear soon after this age that his middle name of Sage was chosen wisely because he could, with almost uncanny accuracy, predict what others were thinking with little or no assistance and background information. There were other "incidents" throughout the years that it was no surprise when Levi got his acceptance letter to Hogwarts the Summer after his 11th birthday.

By all standards, Levi is handsome for a young man. He has dirty blond hair that he keeps immacuately styled, a sun-kissed skin complexion, and hazel eyes that look out at the world with wonderment and curiosity. He's smart and inquisitive for a young man, but was often curious about the wizard world, though his father seemed to be more content with Levi learning about it by himself.

Levi is especially keen about learning about magical creatures, having been a big fan of movies, books, and video games that had fantasy elements. Levi's father explained that these books were purely ficticious, so Levi is finally glad to have his questions answered.

Levi is also interested in music, and has an aspiration to find other students who are also interested and delve into the world of Wizard rock. He had no idea how Wizard Rock actually sounds like, but he's interested in finding out and taking a crack at it.
